What to do on a 13 hour layover in Auckland?
I will be going to visit an old friend from high school in Perth, Australia from the US. The cheapest flights I can find are via Air NZ, not Qantas, and almost all of the flights available include a 7-14 hour layover in Auckland. Having read the visa requirements, I now know that US citizens don’t require a visa, so I will have a little bit of time to kill without worrying about applying for a visa or anything. What is something I can visit to snap pictures, or a good restaurant to eat? I am going to be choosing the longest layover I can to be able to run around Auckland for a day or so, and want to have the best, most efficient experience I possibly can. Any monuments, parks, famous restaurants, etc. that I should check out? Thanks in advance for your advice. I’m looking forward to my visit!!!

Take the blue airport bus into central auckland. Tell the driver to drop you near the bottom of Queen St. That is the main street in Auckland and also at the bottom of queen street is the harbour.
Sky tower is further up and just to the right of queen st – awesome view of the city.
Queen St has a few oriental food courts and the food there taste just like they made it n the orient and not out of a plastic packet!
